RHS Tatton 2005 - ‘Chaos to Calm’ Show Garden
The Design Brief: The garden was created to raise awareness of the life sustaining functions that the kidneys perform.
The space was organised into three visually distinct areas creating a journey ‘From Chaos to Calm’, a metaphor for the physical and emotional experiences of someone who has kidney failure.
The design also stimulated the different human senses: sight, sound, touch and smell which was experienced as people walked through the garden.
The Client: Manchester Royal Infirmary & Manchester Metropolitan University
“It was unlike anything seen at Tatton previously. You could enter the garden and walk round it. I’d love to see more of this style of garden at Tatton.” D Turnock, Staffordshire
